Color Field Exhibition Guide

ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
Color Field is an outdoor sculpture exhibition featuring large, colorful, interactive sculptures against the lush backdrop of Crystal Bridges’ Ozark forest. Learn about color theory, discover some of today’s exciting contemporary artists, and immerse yourself completely to experience the impact color has on our lives.

DESIGN GOALS
This guide served two purposes, as we had two exhibitions shown at the same time. Nature’s Nation was a traditional exhibition in a gallery, with extensive interpretation on the walls. Color Field, on the other hand, was a mostly outdoor show. This project serves as a guide to lead you to both exhibitions, and the majority of the content supported Color Field.

To aid the guest and give equity to the two exhibitions, I vertically reversed the content. The middle had a foldout map that guided you throughout the museum’s campus, as well as a key for the Color Field sculptures, which corresponded to illustrations of each work.

This was the foldout map, and on the reverse was a visual key for one of the Color Field artworks.

A detail of the back of the foldout map, shown with the artwork it corresponds to. Below is a digital design file of the full guide.
